Our team has recently been chatting with mother of three and new homeowner, Breanna. You may remember her pink door from an earlier blog! She spoke to us about her build, and why Hume Doors was the right fit for her family home.
Breanna and her husband, Damien, started the hunt for a new house in late 2017. They loved the Brisbane suburb of Ashgrove and were hoping for a place with a bigger yard for the kids and within walking distance to schools and their extended family. “Luckily,” Breanna recounted “we found the perfect place. It ticked all the boxes!”
What the couple predicted would become a major renovation didn’t turn out that way. “It was an even bigger job than we thought, so we ended up having to knock down the existing structure and build new,” Breanna said.
She believed this was the better choice and was thankful for the great builders from A Fox Construction who helped. “In the long run it was the best step forward because now we have the exact layout we want. Plus we were comfortable knowing the builders could deliver our vision.”
When it came time to decide on external doors, Breanna decided to have a little fun with colour. They picked the JST6 from our Joinery Entrance range for the mudroom in between the home and the garage. “This is the entrance our family uses the most, so the little splash of pink is a nice touch,” Breanna told Hume. “With three girls and myself, the hubby was a little outnumbered. But now that it’s finished, he’s happy with how it turned out.”
Breanna said it made sense to go with Hume because they’d already seen some of the Entrance range in Bunnings, one of our key distributors. Coincidentally, the family’s builder also recommended Hume Doors. “Ordering was a breeze,” Breanna said. “They called us when it was ready for pick up and we had it home in no time.”
The door was accessorised with a traditional-look silver handle from a local hardware story. “For the finish, I recommend a brighter colour – it really makes the door pop!”
