Record fundraising effort from Hume Doors’ teams this Movember!

A little careful grooming was the theme of November, with many members of our team taking a few more minutes in the morning to ensure their mo was in peak condition to generate a conversation and donations for men’s health.

The Hume Doors team pulled some very impressive numbers this Movember, breaking personal bests and setting new records for 2020 fundraisers. This November, the Hume Group – including HDT Sydney, Newcastle, Port Macquarie, VIC, SA, WA, QLD, NZ, Hume Pine, Hume Masterpanel and Millars – committed to showing their support for men’s health. A total of 143 dedicated team members took the no-shave pledge this year, vowing to grow out their mo’. Several activities and competitions saw a little friendly rivalry between branches.

Employee involvement

Towards the beginning of November, the teams were assessed for the first activity; the employee involvement challenge. Hume Masterpanel took out first place with the greatest percentage of employees committing to the cause, winning a free lunch for their branch. An impressive 35 of their 70 staff signed up for Movember, meaning half of the Hume Masterpanel crew spent their November growing out their facial hair!

Dress-up day

The next challenge began mid-way through Movember. A dress-up day saw the Hume teams pull out all the stops, with some very colourful and creative costumes worn to work. With so many great outfits, the judges couldn’t decide on just one best dressed. Sydney’s David Viola, Newcastle’s Tori May, and Chris Hooke from Millars were named the three dress up champions. Check out the winning costumes, pictured along with their teammates!

Money raised

In just one short month, the combined Hume Doors teams raised an amazing $23,338! We’re so proud of everyone’s efforts, but the Victoria branch pulled some particularly impressive numbers. With 15 people signed up to the fundraiser, and a total of $5,791 collected, the VIC team finished with an average of $386.07 raised per person!

As for individual donations, the Hume General Manager, Eddie took out first place. He raised the most out of any individual team member, with a total of $1,931 contributed to the cause! On top of this figure, Eddie has also decided to donate an additional $100 and a gift card, bringing his total to over $2k! Go, Eddie!
