Here at Hume, there’s nothing we love more than hearing from our happy customers! We recently got in touch with Stacie and Shaun, who used multiple Hume doors in their new home, to chat about the build.
Stacie, a childcare worker and student, has been with her husband Shaun, a civil constructionist, for 14 years. Stacie, with her passion for decorating and design, may seem quite different to the outdoorsy, dirt-bike-loving Shaun – but together the couple complement each other perfectly and have used this synergy to create a beautiful home for themselves and their future family in Camden, Sydney.
The pair decided to build a home after they struggled to find a place on the market that ticked all their boxes. At a minimum, they wanted the main bedroom to be fitted with an ensuite, and for it to be located at the rear of the house. A double garage was another must have. Finally, they wanted the home to be fairly modern and built on a decent-sized block that would give them the space to cater for their future needs.
The home is now fully built and ticks all the boxes the couple desired. The space is roughly 300m² and complete with a triple garage, four bedrooms – the main fitted with an ensuite and walk-in-robe, a study, a media room and a kid’s activity room. The colour scheme is monochromatic for both the interior and exterior of the home, which creates an aesthetically pleasing consistency.
“Shaun chose all our internal doors and I picked the entrance and laundry doors,” Stacie explains. The HAG9 was used for the interior doors, fitting Shaun’s intentions for “a modern but simple look”. For the entrance and laundry door, Stacie wanted to let as much natural light as possible into the room, so she knew her choice had to have a significant element of clear glazing. For the front door she chose the XS24 – and admits “we love how grand (it) is” – and for the laundry she picked the simple but contemporary JST1.
