A new home for every interior design lover

Tenielle Archer has worked in interior design for almost a decade, inspiring her to build her dream home using a combination of doors from the Hume range.

She has been sharing her 3D rendered images of her home on Instagram, which feature beautiful arches, neutral tones and statement doors and handles. Learn more about why she chose Hume Doors and how she put her interior design skills to work below.

Building her dream home

Tenielle works as an Interior Designer for Tempus Design Studio, where she has drafted her own floorplan and created life-like renders. She used a combination of the programs Autodesk Revit and V-Ray.

Her new home is being built in her hometown of Mackay and she couldn’t be more excited to see her designs come to life.

When it came to choosing the interior features of her new home, Tenielle knew she could not go past Hume Doors.

“I work in the industry, so Hume has always been a brand I specify on my jobs. It is also a brand that is highly trusted by local builders,” said Tenielle.

Bringing her interior design dreams to life

With so many beautiful rooms in her new home, Tenielle had to choose numerous doors to suit her style. For her internal doors, she chose our HAG11 Accent doors

Tenielle has also chosen our XLR500 Linear Entrance door for her entry which will be painted the same colour as the house’s exterior.

Not only did Tenielle want doors built from quality materials she also wanted to make sure they would suit her design choices.

“I have a love for raw and natural materials, from warm timbers to soft natural fibres,” said Tenielle.

“When it comes to interior design I am drawn to light, earthy and open spaces.”

Taking inspiration from her first home

Tenielle purchased her first home in 2018 and renovated the small cottage over a two-year period. She fell in love with its clean lines and ‘Queensland charm’. She wanted to incorporate some of these timeless features into her new home.

Tenielle was inspired by the vertical joint (VJ) internal walls, the timber floors, the light-flooded rooms, and the extra high ceilings.

“I certainly wanted to bring a little piece of that charm to my new home. And that is why I selected the HAG11 doors for my new build as they have a vertical routed design.”

Selecting the final touches

When it comes to interior design, every little piece counts. For Tenielle, this includes the door hardware.

“Door hardware is so important to any project as it completes the look,” said Tenielle.

For the front door she has selected a beautiful handmade round pull in solid Victorian Ash, supplied by Auburn Woodturning.

For the internal doors, Tenielle is using a satin brass door lever with a round rosette. These will be supplied by Handle House and Things.

We’re excited to see the finished build of Tenielle’s home and how her interior design skills bring the home to life.
