Ashleigh and Matt are first home buyers who we found on Instagram – @ash_and_matts_homebuild – after they tagged us in some of their progress shots. We chatted with the young couple about the journey so far, and why they picked Hume Doors.
Ash and Matt went through Firstyle Homes, who recommended Hume. “Our builder has relied on Hume for years, so it was only fitting that’s who would supply our doors,” Ash said. “As building novices, we decided it was best for him to install the doors – although I couldn’t image it would be too hard to install yourself!”
The couple picked the XN16 from the Newington range for their entry door. “We picked the translucent glass to allow some sunlight into the front of our house,” Ash told Hume. “The Newington had a range of glass insert options so we were able to pick the perfect one.” They finished the door with Sikkens’ walnut stain and a stainless steel back to back pull handle from Lanes.
Inside, Hume features again in the kitchen. Ash and Matt picked from the Joinery Internal range for their pantry door. “The LIN1 was a great fit,” Ash said. The couple liked the minimalistic style of the range and were interested to learn about the product’s combination of traditional joinery methods and modern techniques. It was coated with Taubmans’ elusive white and accessorised with polished silver handles.
